Gault&Millau and Mastercard donate 600,000 school meals to the World Food Programme

Feb 12, 2021

In 2020, Gault&Millau Belgium and Mastercard supported the World Food Programme once again. Together they created exclusive End of Year Gift Boxes, which companies could offer to their best customers, employees and other contacts.

The box included two bottles of exclusive champagne by Laurent-Perrier, the delicious champagne-pairing chocolate box by Gault&Millau and Neuhaus, the 2021 edition of the Gault&Millau guide, and the 2021 edition of the Gault&Millau Finest chocolatiers of Belgium guide. The boxes were sold for the price of 150€, including a 50€ direct donation to the World Food Programme. This donation was doubled by Mastercard, making the total donation no less than 100€ per box! This amount represents ONE YEAR of school meals for TWO children, so each box mattered.

For the first edition of these boxes, an incredible result was achieved: no less than 1,200 boxes were sold to Belgian companies. This means Gault&Millau Belgium and Mastercard were able to donate 600,000 school meals to the World Food Programme.

A sincere THANK YOU to all companies that have supported this initiative and to the Mastercard team for their support in these troubled times.

For those who like the idea, we can still prepare some boxes for 2021. Please contact the Gault&Millau team via [email protected] for more information.

The World Food Programme was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020 for its efforts to provide food assistance in areas of conflict, and to prevent the use of food as a weapon of war and conflict. Gault&Millau & Mastercard are extremely happy to be part of this initiative.

Make life tasty, also for others,

The Gault&Millau Team
